Mr. Hemanta Mukherji said in one interview program that his voice (Musical output) is given by God and it is not created by him. Such greatness can not be imagined. Mr. Hemnata Mukherji came to my marraige reception party in Kolkata on 13th May 1975 and blessed us. We were overjoyed with his presence.

Hemanta kumar was a great singer. Many songs sung by him more than 50 years ago are still very popular and are liked by present generation also. He was a great Music Director also. His song ''Tumhen yaad hoga kabhi ham mile '', Ye raat ye chandni phir kahan, Dil kyun deewana mera ho gaya lakh sambhala magar kho gaya, and many others are memorable songs which makes Hemant Da immortal. please post more songs of Hemant Kumar on this site.

Sangeet Bhuvan is such an institution, which has been offering the opportunities for those who are living abroad. Sangeet Bhuvan has been helping us to keep our memories alive. I personally feel gratefull to the owner of Sangeet Bhuvan and I have been planning to request him for some special songs,which are not presently available.
On the other hand, may I take the opportunity to request all the members of Sangeet Bhuvan Forum to come forward to keep in touch with each other and also let us create a fund for this organisation, which will be helping the company to provide longterm services to us. I wonder if anyone can help me - I love Hemanta Mukherjee's music and recently bought 'A Legend Of Glory' Vol 2 - I am also learning Kathak - We use 'De Dol Dol Dol' from this album for practising our dance - However I do not understand the words - Can anyone give me a written translation to english or give me the words in Hindi/Bengali so that I can have it translated. He is one of the great singers of Bengal who spread Tagore's songs to all the hearts of bengalees in such a way that so long people will remember Tagore,they will remember Hemanta Mukherjee. Hemant Kumar, as I have known till upto a period in child-hood days. When I grew up to bigger & bigger and have the same intoxication of music, he bacame known to me as Hemant Mukhopadhyaya, not Mukherjee as we compress the title to make it utterable. I used to hear innumerable Rabindra Sangeets sung by him in young age. Now I`m hearing the same voice over & over again from your site. I mail my favourite songs to a relative, who listened and opened an account in the site and do the same. So it is very much soothing to hear Hemant Da`s 2 or 3 songs from your library in the morning before proceeding to other jobs on the computer. I do the same everyday. Hemant Mukhopadhyaya with Bengali songs is exceptional and with Rabindra Sangeet sublimately supreme. Lastly, this is all for your effort in bringing out a site that is dedicated to the leviathan of music, in my view.

I must thank Mr. Das of Sangit Vubon for giving us an opportunity to listen to the hit songs of Hemanta Mukherjee. I was fortunate to see him and listen to him in several concerts. I have been listening to his songs for past 55 yrs or so and I believe that his songs will be heard for next 55 yrs or more. I agree with Late Salil Chowdhury, the legendary music composer that if God will sing, he will sing with Hemanta's voice. May his soul rest in peace.

Million thanks to Sangeet Bhuvan for bringing the songs of Hemanta Mukherjee on the web. I have been listening to his songs for over 50 years - more often now in USA. I met Mr. Mukherjee several times while I was a student in BE College. I get peace listening to his songs. What a deep and heavenly voice! My his soul rest in peace.
