Hemant Da is eternal. He lives on and lives joyously in our hearts.

Whatever has happened to his daughter Renu Mukerjee? I heard her sing once or twice on stage and she sings with so much emotion and melody that I still keep reminding myself to find out about her. Why isn't she singing and where is she?

Would anyone be able to give her email id enabling me to contact her and ask?

Thanks and Rgds. Rajendra

His songs are a key to the locked door beyond which lies the hidden if not the lost and the forgotten world of Indianness and its culture.

His voice had a rare enigmatic quality to keep any and all unneccessary emotions out of the whole song teaching that emotions should always be such strict control that there are no outbursts. Be it feeling of sadness, philosophy, prophecy, a compassionate prayer, hopeless state of things, love or grief, the extremes got magically filtered out and were instead rendered with just a perfect tinge to present an effect peculiar to each mood.

He was a rare master of emotions in his soulful melodious singing. And yes, the lyrics were equally spellbinding!

Hemanta Mukherjee is one of the shining stars in the galaxy of music world. When I feel pain or get mental disorder I use to listen to his son, It heals up my soar and get a relief of disorderliness of my mind. It acts as tonic on me and my minds fills with heavenly pleasure

I am also listening Hemantda's compositions like "KAHI DEEP JALEY KAHI DIL" really a peace of soul and a composition for ever . I really dedicate the song "KAHI DEEP JALAY" to the music lovers of India.

I have great respect for Hemanta Mukhopadhyay. I can copy his voice so easily, someone called me young Hemanta. While I am singing one of his song and if I feel like deviating a little, I just remember him with deep respect and it automatically comes to me. He is my role model and love him so much.

I am at loss of words when I sit to write something about Hemanta Mukherjee. The depth of his voice can be compared to the deepest point of the Atlantic ocean and its serenity can only be compared with the snow capped peak of Mount Everest.

His voice is multidimensional and is so real that it seems that one can touch its fluid melody. It will be unfair not to remember the lyricist and the music directors who had made his songs so real and immortal.

"Tere Dwar Khada Bhagwan, Bhagat bhar de re Jholi" is an apt tribute to Hemanta Da. He was like a God standing at our Doors wanting us to fill our bags with the music/singing talent that he wanted to part with for our benefit.

My most Respectful salutations to him.

He remains the best in my heart after his many visits to Trinidad in the early 60`s. I spent all my time with him and his wonderful family, especially Rani (daughter).

His music, melody and songs captivated me & the country. There will be no replacement but memories. I wish, I could hear from his family.
